At St John’s, Art and Design & Technology (DT) provide children with opportunities to be creative, curious and courageous, developing their skills while celebrating their own individuality. Our curriculum is rooted in our vision of “all different, all equal, living together in God’s amazing world”, encouraging children to appreciate different cultures, perspectives and ways of creating. Through drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, cooking, designing, making and evaluating, children explore a wide range of materials, techniques and artists, while learning to solve problems and turn their ideas into reality. We provide rich opportunities for children to showcase their work, develop practical skills and take pride in what they create, helping them to recognise their own talents and appreciate the creativity of others.
